Addaction is pleased to announce that we are joining forces with Addaction. Addaction is a UK-wide provider of substance misuse services for adults, young people and families, whilst Addaction provides mental health, drug, alcohol and family services across the South East.
Our shared ambition is to be the leader of evidence-based recovery services in both mental health and substance misuse.
Joining forces is good news for those we support and will enable us to provide better, more diverse services that will radically improve treatment and outcomes for our service users. We will have a stronger national voice on behalf of the people we support.
Ryan Campbell, CEO of Addaction said “We have worked closely to ensure that we are a great cultural and operational fit, with exciting new areas of expertise coming together which will further our ambition of treating the whole person, not just the problem they present with.”
Simon Antrobus, CEO of Addaction said “I am delighted to be able to announce our new shared direction. Recovery and a focus on exceptional service delivery is our common goal, with service users at the heart of both charities.”

The creation of the new organisation will enable Addaction and Addaction to bring together their significant areas of expertise in supporting children, young people, adults and families. It will enable us to innovate and focus on what matters to both organisations – the best and most appropriate support to our service users to enable them to regain control of their lives.
There will be greater opportunities for staff, including more diverse career pathways, training, development and improved clinical career choices.
Over the coming months Addaction and Addaction will continue to hold consultative activities with staff, service users, commissioners, partners and stakeholders on the merger to enable full consultation, discussion, information sharing and collaborative working.
We have undertaken a full due diligence process with unanimous agreement of both boards of trustees. Both organisations are now working on the detail of the implementation. Addaction will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Addaction during January 2015, with a transfer of staff taking place in June.
Further announcements will be made as the combined plans are developed over the coming months.
