At Thinkaction, we offer you a friendly and supportive counsellor who will guide you through your mental health difficulties, helping you gain a new understanding of your issues so you can move forward.
For some people, counselling can be challenging and uncomfortable. You might be talking about things you’ve not spoken about before and as a result, you might find that you feel worse before you feel better. This is perfectly normal. We encourage you to continue with your sessions even if you’re finding them challenging.
Your Thinkaction counsellor may ask you to do some work in between sessions, such as keeping a diary or recording thoughts and feelings. This is to help you think about things for yourself and apply what you have learned in sessions.
To make the most of counselling you will need to be committed to attend regularly. It’s also important to remember that your counsellor cannot always solve your problems completely but they can work with you to help you feel better.
